What is a High-Efficiency Furnace?
High-efficiency furnaces save energy by operating with less heat waste than conventional furnaces. New heating technology and components make this possible. Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) is a measurement of how much heat a furnace can create from the fuel being consumed.
High-efficiency furnaces have an AFUE of at least 90% and sometimes as high as 98.5%! Traditional furnaces can have an AFUE rating as low as 80%. Because of this difference in fuel-burning efficiency, a new high-efficiency furnace can save you over 12% on your energy bill!
Why Isn’t My Furnace Working?
There are several reasons a furnace may not be producing warm air. Try these troubleshooting tips that might help solve the problem:
Make sure your thermostat is set to the right temperature and on the “HEAT” setting.
See if your furnace air filter is clean. These should be replaced every 3 months. A clogged filter will prevent airflow.
Is the fresh air intake clear? This will be on the outside of your home. Make sure there is no debris, ice, or snow blocking the intake area.
If you have an older furnace, check the pilot light. Make sure it is in the ON position and lit.

How Long Will a New Furnace Last?
Your new furnace will always benefit from proper care and routine tune-ups and maintenance. Typically, you can expect a new furnace to operate normally for at least 10 years, and over 15 years for well-maintained units.

How Long Does a Furnace Installation Take?
The size and spacing of your furnace or utility room will have an impact on the duration of your install. Ease of access to the install location and the furnace model you’ve selected will also affect the installation timeline.
